Only those persons may participate who hold:

a) a licence issued by their National Triathlon Board or
b) a licence of the day

All participants may apply for a licence of the day for EUR 30.- when sending their applications.

 

In case of participiation in the German Mastership it has to be signed on the application form.  Licence for the day is also accepted.

     
Participation in World Champion-Ship for Fire-Fighters   Please attach a copy of your service card to your application form.
     
Application  

Through official application form or online application form only. If you send your application online, please make sure to sign the waiver and indemnification form at the registration office. Applications will be accepted after receipt of the complete application documents and the start fee.

     
Application for Relays   For relay applications the signatures of all three competitors are definitely required.

The application form which must be signed and filled in by the three competitors will be sent by e-mail after receipt of online application has to be returned within two weeks to:

Participants must include a photocopy of the transfer note with their applications.


Transfers made by third parties must include the name of the athlete competing on the transfer form in order to ensure proper payment.

Payment can effect by banktransfer, debit note, or credit card. Please observe that payment by credit card will have a special charge of 15 Euro.

The field of individual starters is limited to 3,000 athletes. There is a guaranteed amount of 1,500 starting places for German athletes. Foreign athletes have an amount of 1,200 starting places. German athletes don’t have the opportunity to get starting-spots from the foreign contingent. As well as foreign athletes don’t have the opportunity to get starting-spots from the German contingent. The remaining 300 spots are available at 6 of December 2010 (First come - First serve), online.

The field of relay starters is limited to 550.

Important note: As soon as the application limit is reached, the application process is closed.

*Exclusive relay competition including separate awards ceremony at the stadium, presentation of the relays in the program booklet and three bottles of champagne. Only firms could participate.

All prices include the actual VAT, licence and association fees, including team judgement. Services like gifts for athletes, carbo party, food and drink during and after the race, massage, barriers, finisher shirt, medal, medical treatment, finisher certificate, security service, list of results, etc. are included in the application fee.


All bank fees must be paid by the participant. Transfer or checks only in Euro.

The start fee will be waived only for professional athletes (men or women) who finished place 1 - 10 in the CR 2010.

EUR 5.- for appropriate chip for time taking (in case the athlete has a championchip of his own, there will be no lending fees)

For changes to the application we have to charge EUR 15 after the application deadline (April 30, 2011) due to the additional time and work involved in subsequent changes.

     
     
Age Groups  

Attention! According to ITU/DTU Competition and Organization Rules only athletes born 1991 and older may take part. Members of relay teams have to be 18 years or older

Team judgement

  Each team consists of athletes of the same gender.

Only the three best participants of each particular team/club/country will be judged. Therefore, an additional team application is not necessary.

However, all team members must spell the name of the their team/club/country in the same way on their applications, including possible abbreviations.

     
     
Relay Teams
Judgement CR:
  Each relay team consists of a swimmer, a cyclist and a runner. The first change will take place in a separate bike park which will be specially marked. The second change to running will also take place in a separate area. The start numbers of the members of the relay teams will differ in colour(green) from those of the remaining participants. The race meeting, the starting process (last groups), provisions after finishing and the winners' award ceremony correspond to the general regulations. Female, male and mixed relay teams are allowed.

Relay participants have to be 18 years or older at the Race day.

Changes in application after April 30th, 2011 will be charged with 15 Euro for handling.

Prize Money CR   The first ten places women and men are guaranteed a minimum prize money as follows:
EUR 15,000.-/EUR 8,000.-/EUR 5,000.-/EUR 3,000.-/EUR 2,000.-/ EUR 1,100.-/ EUR 800.-/ EUR 700.-/ EUR 600.-/ EUR 550.-, i. e. a total of EUR 73,500.-
If prize money is won by a foreign participant, taxes will be deducted from this prize money in accordance with the corresponding tax regulations. Prize money will not be paid until the official drug testing results are available. Prize money will only be paid to German top ten male and female athletes if the athlete concerned holds a pro licence at the time of receiving the start documents.

     
Prize Money CR relays   Prize money for relay teams as follows: The first 3 relay teams of men, women, or mixed will win for the first place 900 Euro, the second place 600 Euro and the third place 300 Euro.
     
     
Gifts CR and WC for fighters   Those athletes who finish the race within the entire time of 15 hours will receive the official CR Finisher Shirt, members of relay teams will receive a special Finisher Shirt. Participants in the World Championship will receive a Finisher Shirt with additional embroidery. The fastest participants of age groups will receive a present.

Cups for the 1st to 3rd places of each age group, for men and women.

Preliminary schedule   Start at the Kanallände Hilpoltstein at 6.00 a.m., top 50 men, top 50 women and all athletes elder than 65 years. Group 2 at 6.10 a.m. SUB 9, group 3 at 6.20 a.m. fastest age groups, group 4, women total, group 5 at 6.40 a.m. group 5 to 16 in intervals of 5 minutes. Relays will probably start at 8.40 a.m. as the last two start groups. Closing of the finish-line for the last start group is 10.30 p.m. at the Festival Ground in Roth.

Time Registration   Time registration will only effect by chips of one’s own or by a transponder system provided by the organiser. The transponders left to the competitors have to be treated carefully. In case of a lost transponder, the competitor will be responsible and charged. The fees for a lost transponder can be seen in the registration office.
     
     

Special service, Provisions and support on race day

  During the race competitors will be provided with sufficient food and drink. After the race they will receive various drinks and food rich in carbohydrates in the finishline area (relay swimmers at transition zone 1, relay cyclists at transition zone 2). In addition, massage treatment will be offered. The Bavarian Red Cross, Water Rescue Roth and physicians will provide further medical care and rescuing services.
     
     
Doping   Tests according to DTU drug testing rules and national drug testing agency. Every athlete who signs up for the CR 2011 as a top-athlete, automatically agrees to get a Blood Sample taken. Everybody who has a positive doping-test at the CR, will get a lifetime suspension from the Race.
     
Swim Course   Main-Donau-Kanal with start and finish at the "Lände Hilpoltstein". Attention: Due to ship and boat traffic, swim training on the course is allowed only on July 8th and July 9th from 6.30 a.m. to 9.00 a.m. Persons training outside these times in the Kanal will be disqualified from the race! Please do your training in the Rothsee or in the local swimming pools.
     
Bike Course   South of Roth, low traffic, oncoming traffic is blocked for the majority of the course, two laps.
     
Run Course  

On streets and paths along the Main-Donau-Kanal where traffic will be completely banned. Flat course, one slightly ascending slope within 1 km before the finish.

     
     
Accomodation  

Bookings must be made by participants and guests themselves. We recommend early booking because of the limited accommodation capacity.

Additional Information  

All athletes will receive a confirmation postcard or e-mail informing them that their application has been accepted or declined. Further information will follow end of May, e.g. final time schedule etc by E-Mail.

Until April 30th 2011, every participant has the right of withdrawal, the application fee being refunded after deduction of EUR 60,--


Foreign competitors should send their IBAN and SWIFT Nr. with their withdrawal.

After May 1st 2011, participants are not eligable for any refund.

Bank fees are the responsibility of each individual participant.

Past this date no refunds will be made.

Each participant must pick up his start documents personally and must have a valid start licence, which must be shown at the issuing office or other check-points of the organization together with the ID-card/passport. Otherwise the participant must buy a licence of the day. Relay participants do not need a start licence or licence of the day.

Giving one's start place to another person is definitely not permitted, everybody who still does it gets a lifetime suspension from the CR

The organizer reserves the right to reject applications or to prohibit the participation of athletes for reasons important to the organizer.

The Event Director and Race Referee have the discretion to disqualify competitors.

Participants disqualified because of evident fraud will get a lifetime suspension from the CR.

There may be changes within the programme, race course or the time schedule.

A few important regulations regarding participation at the CHALLENGE (The DTU regulations are still binding).

     
     
Swimming  

1.   The training schedule in the Main-Donau-Kanal is to be
      followed exactly. (Please see the note regarding the swim
      course.)

2.   Swimming caps issued by the organizer must be worn.
3.   Neoprene-swimsuits can be worn at water temperatures between 16°C and 23.9°C.
4.   Only official boats (for rescuing and adjudicating purposes) are allowed to use the

      race-course.

     
Cycling  

1.   Drafting and constant parallel cycling are prohibited and
      liable to disqualification. A minimum distance of 10 m must
      be kept to the cyclist in front.

2.   Each competitor must wear a cycling helmet with closed chinstrap;

      the design of the helmet must correspond to the standards of an established test

      institute.
3.   Each competitor must also wear some form of clothing on the upper part of the body
4.   The bicycles must be fitted with the frame-start numbers.
5.   Each competitor must wear his/her start number on his/her back.
6.   Brake levers must show backwards.

     
Running   1.   Competitors must not be accompanied by non-competing
      persons (friends, supporters, trainers, etc.)

2.   Each competitor must also wear clothing on the upper part of the body
3.   The start number must be worn on the chest.
     
General  

1.   Each competitor is responsible for his or her own

      intermediate and end time registration. The transponders
      provided by the promoter and used for time registration
      must be worn throughout the entire race.

2.   Instructions given by the adjudicators, officials, doctors and rescue officials must be
complied with

3.   Start numbers may not be reduced in size or altered in any way.
4.   Prizes which are not collected on the day of the awards ceremony, are forfeited.
5.   Protest may only be submitted in writing and accompanied by a a deposit of EUR       25,-- according to organization regulations.
