It has already become a tradition for TEAMCHALLENGE to donate 50 € for each start place sold in its “Pre-Christmas Action” to various regional charitable organizations. This year the donation has even been increased: Race Organizer Felix Walchshöfer and his team collected as much as 20,000 €.

Some of the money will be donated to Freundeskreis Nürnberg, an organization that supports addicts in the Nuremberg region and has been responsible for the relay teams in the Challenge Roth event for several years now. Another part of the donation will be given to Ehlers-Danlos-Initiative, which helps people that suffer from this rare connective tissue disorder. The Roth UNICEF office is also going benefit from the donation. UNICEF does not only support countless people around the world, but also organizes a “motivation mile” at the Challenge Roth event and has thus helped to motivate many triathletes on their very last kilometers of the race. The Bavarian Triathlon Association will also be glad to receive a donation, which will be used to support young athletes in Bavaria. Another part of the money will go to the Roth Rotary Club, which will use it to support three projects. Apart from a school in Kenya and an orphanage in Ukraine, the donation will also be used to build a playground at the Auhof facility for handicapped children near Hilpoltstein.
Apart from the money raised through the Pre-Christmas Action, TEAMCHALLENGE is also going to donate 100 per cent of the parking fees that had been charged at the swim start for the first time this year. In addition, donations were also collected at the Anniversary Celebration that took place before the 10th Challenge Roth. TEAMCHALLENGE has added some more money to these donations, which will now be used to support various charity organizations.
“We are happy to see that we have been able to collect so much money this year,” says TEAMCHALLENGE CEO Felix Walchshöfer. “There are many things that are more important than sports, and that we are glad to support. We think it is our obligation to help charitable organizations not only on a regional, but also on an international basis. We hope that our donation will be a small contribution to their work.”
